I'm tired of giving and giving and getting nothing in return. I think I'll just watch a movie by myself this year instead.

Ladies and gents. Let it be official. Today, the 26th of February, 2008, Colleen Mahn did a 2k erg test. And broke her goal for Spring Season with it not even being two weeks into it. A 2:09.7 split, getting under my goal by .3. And. I was shooting for a 2:12.7. So, from my last 2k, I went down a total of 3.5 splits. And if you don't row, then you're probably very lost and think I'm absolutely crazy. BUT I DON'T CARE. I'M SO FREAKING HAPPY OMGOMGOMG.

Crew practice on Friday was...phenomenal. The seniors got to decide what we were going to do, so they had us go outside on the track after bringing all of the ergs downstairs (so UTC people could take it to ...UTC) and told us we were going to do 321's (Which is 3 easy laps, 2 medium, 1 hard.) We groaned and one of the seniors said, very aptly, "This is crew. When is it ever fun?" We got throught half a lap before they turned around and said to the effect of, "JK LOL.'
So then we played capture the flag, and my team (Team Lightning/America) won. Then we went in the boat house and started playing Duck Duck Goose. And then the UTC people came, and their truck left without them (cause it was filled with ergs!) so they came up and, out of about 10, only three actually played Telephone with us. One of the guys sat next to me looked emo, but when he asked 'what ya'll are doin' I realized that he was just another southern boy. And the guy next to Southern Emoman was the curly-haired Adonis that the whole crew team collectively sighed over. But only when he had his back turned. After the UTC people left we all went to Stone Cup. I got a white hot chocolate. Alas, my favorite pokemon trainer (Ashby) wasn't there.
Then Amberk and Jenne and I went up and got ready, went to Walgreens and bought alotta stuffs (Slim Jims, DINOSAUR GUMMIES, Crunch hearts, Nerd ropes, etc, etc.) to smuggle into the theatre, where we saw 27 Dresses. Which is soooooo cute. And Kourtney and Haley saw it too, lol. We all squeeed about it and then went home. Now, that wasn't a good dinner for the night before the race, ahaha. Jenne and Amber were injured so they didn't have to row, but I did. Oh well. It was a disaster even without my fatty dinner.
Ahahaa, oooh StuCo. Well, actually it's sort of all of Saturday. First off, I had to go buy shoes for StuCo. Found 'em, bought 'em.
Then I literally had to pack and take a shower for the Indoor race in 45 minutes. It wasn't that bad, I just forgot my FRIGGIN TENNIS SHOES WHICH RUINED THE WHOLE RACE FOR ME. No biggie. I got there and had to borrow someone else's shoes, and they were just a tad too big. I saw a guy from my old elementary school while I was warming up, and I heard he was still a prick, so I didn't say hi. Yeah.
One of the coaches from CJR (where I worked out sort of over the summer), was in the lane next to mine, and she just looked at me, and said, "Nu-uh, girl. Are you really only 15? I don't believe that, Colleen. No way." Haha, she remembered me.
So I get on the erg, and the race starts, and I'm erging, I'm erging, and HOLY CRAP I COME OUT OF MY SHOES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RACE!!!1!!! So I come to a complete stop, I automatically go to last place, I'm freaking out, my coxswain runs up next to the erg while I'm pulling the shoes out and trying not to hyperventilate, and she tightens the straps. So now I'm erging barefoot, the foot things are so low that I'm still coming out and I'm about to cry while I have to tell my coxswain to keep tightening the straps or else I'm going to fall out. And the UTC people that take our times, the big guy in the next lane, he comes over and re-adjusts my feet straps so I'm finally able to pull hard and not stop to put my feet back in.
Afterwards, Amber told me I had about a 2:36 right after the whole foot fiasco, and I was able to pull it down to a 2:18. And I was aiming for a 2:15. It's not thaaaaaat bad. It just makes me mad that that could've been my best 2k if not for the whole foot fiasco.
So in the last 250 meters, one of the girls on my team that I don't know that well jumps behind me and just starts SCREAMING AT ME. Which helped alot, I just didn't know who it was at first, and I didn't expect it. I was expecting Jenne or Amber or even Taylor. But yeah, she helped out A LOT. And then Coach Ashby sat down beside me on the erg and said that I recovered extremely well, that shit like that happens in crew. And, boy, do I know it. In Southeasterns, my boat was 1st for the first 500 meters, and then our stroke's oar came out of the oar lock, and I had to lead the boat. And we ended up getting last. Coach Ashby had his own personal story, but I didn't pay too much attention because I was trying to get my breath under control. But Jasmine did really well, I'm proud of her. In all of the other categories, my school had about 9-10 people, but in mine, it was just Jasmine and I. And poor Emma was the only coxswain from my school that actually competed. She got a 2:08 for 500 meters, which was pretty impressive. And she got third.
Then I went to Amber's house where we got ready for StuCo, and her mom is an INCREDIBLE COOK OMGOMGOMG. CHICKEN.
And then StuCo was pretty fun, except some people I know...were being losers. There was plenty of space to dance in, they just kept dissapearing. I think I know why though. Haha, and Hussein and I did a slow dance together, but it was really awkward. It wasn't romantic or anything, it was just something to do. 'So, how was your day.' 'Well..I screamed at my parents. That's always fun. Then I came to StuCo.' 'Oh, wow. I rowed with a huge blister on my thumb and I came out of my shoes.' 'That sucks.' 'I knooow.' And then the song ended around that point. Then I gave Anna a ride to Steak and Shake where her mom picked her up and we all got milkshakes. But it didn't bring any boys. I guess that's because we weren't in any kind of yard...
And this is a long post. Sorry, guys.

Yay, I went driving today. Nothing bad happened. Yet.
Aaaaand, next weekend, I have my first overnight regatta! At Oakridge, which is about three hours away? So, we leave on Friday and we race on Saturday and we'll get back that night. And because of May Day practice tomorrow, I might not have crew practice....I'll just bring my stuff anway, just in case. If I don't, I get to drive. Woot. - Music:Window in the Skies - U2

Friday afternoon, after school, I get a call from my dad. "I'm going to go ahead and pick you up, so you can pack." "What?!" "Oh....you don't know the plan, do you?" Also, I'm really sad that Buschbacher is leaving for China. (Apparently he's going to go coach their Olympic team.) The thing is, he's a great coach. He's the only one that's holding the crew program at GPS together, and right now we really need him. Coach Riede is probably not coming back (THANK GOD), Coach Nowak has a job, so she can't be here all the time, and Coach Swanson already has enough on his plate with varsity. So we might have a new coach that is connected to crew and GPS in so many ways that it makes my head spin. BUT. In some ways I'm relieve because he's the hardest coach I've ever had (aka, the only one that made me cry during practice). And he's leaving right at the beginning of spring crew. I'm kind of mad at him because he's going because they're paying him alot more than GPS, McCallie, and Baylor are combined. Bleh. I guess we'll live without him. Oh wait, we WILL, because if he coached us during winter, all the novice would be dead. Duh. - Mood:indescribable

Ever since we read Canterbury Tales, I've wanted chicken ....stuff. Right now, I want chicken socks. If someone found some, I'd buy them and wear them to school.
Winterim: It was a lot of fun, really. Michael Mullis ate my three dollar candy, and I only got 14 pieces of it. I slept on the floor, mixed up my body parts ('My legs!' ::covers eyes:: 'My toes feel funny.' ::grabs elbows::) I found some whale socks at Lenox Mall, and almost bought them. Also had my first Starbucks experience. It was....caffienating. We also played elevator tag, which got boring really fast since there were 16 floors, and we ended up losing the other team........a lot. But there was that random guy who said a little too enthusiastically, "I like your boots!" to Victoria. And there was a running joke that I had a glass eyeball. "She touched my actual eyeball!" Mosley kept poking me in the face and actually poked me in the eyeball. And jabbed me in the eyebrow. "Your actual eyeball? Is your other one artificial?" "Yup, it's glass. Wanna see me pop it out?" "Ummmmm...." If it's not funny to you, I guess it's one of those things where you have to be there. - Music:Kingdom of Doom by The Good, The Bad And The Queen

Hey guys. Sup? I'm looking for an icon community that I've glanced at and have forever lost, and now I'm trying to find it again. It would be great if you could help me. Some of the icons I glomped from them include: and As you can see, these are some bad-ass awesome icons, and now you can see why I want to find them again. NOTE: They are in no way my creation. I'm looking for their creator. Thanks a bunch.
